The short version: we collect the minimum a boater community needs to run, we use it only to run the site, we sell nothing to anyone, and there are no ads and no third-party trackers. The long version follows.
| WHEN | WHAT |
|---|---|
| Posting a tip | The name you sign it with, your email address if you choose to give one (never shown publicly), the tip itself, and the IP address the post came from (kept to stop abuse). |
| Reporting a tip | The reason you give and the IP address the report came from. |
| Browsing | Standard web-server logs (IP address, pages requested, timestamps), kept briefly for security and debugging. |
| Never | No payment details (the site takes no payments), no advertising identifiers, no analytics trackers, no location from your device. |
To show community tips with their author’s name, to rate-limit abuse, and — if you gave an email — to contact you about your own post if we ever need to. That is the list. We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not send marketing.
None today. The site sets no cookies. When accounts open there will be a single session cookie to keep you signed in, and this policy will say so. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, and there never will be under this policy.
The name a tip is signed with and the tip itself — text, video or link. Email addresses are never shown.
Tips stay until removed. Server logs and rate-limit records are kept for a matter of weeks. Removed video files are deleted from the server when the tip is taken down.
Email dave@tvacom.com to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have a tip you posted taken down. We honour these requests for everyone, wherever you live, and we will act within 30 days.
Everything travels over HTTPS and the database lives on a server only we can reach. No small site can promise perfection — if a breach ever touches your data, we will tell you what happened and what we are doing about it, promptly.
The site is for boaters and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe a child has posted here, tell us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.
